“Hubble 3D” is playing at several  theaters in Southern California.  It is not to be missed.”

But that was then, this is now.

I remember reading about this extraordinary movie in the Los Angeles Times on March 19th 2010.  The reviewer for the L. A. Times said, ‘The spectacular new Imax film ‘Hubble 3D’ will be studied by astronomers, academics and Hollywood special effects artists for years to come.  It’s a movie that not only puts you in space but let’s your travel through it with a speed and wonder that would make James T. Kirk go a little weak in the knees.”  Copyright © 2010 L.A. Times

        Hubble 3D MPAA Rating: G

Running time 43 minutes.  An IMAX 3D camera chronicles the effort of 7 astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.

Back in June ’09 my wife and I attended this very special event at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Once Atlantis is finally decommissioned, it will be displayed at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
